MOM'S OUT OF TOWN

My good friend Elsa just started a blog about pop culture, fashion and anything in between:
http://cafesocietyxxi.blogspot.com/. I miss writing my blog, but I have to tell you, it's been a complicated couple of months. With work and home life, all the responsibilities, I really have to make an effort to sit down and write.

Anyhow, I recommed my friend's blog. Have fun reading it and please comment!

TGIF with baby!!!

Hello people. Today is Friday. How times have changed!! Before baby my plans were so different! I would come home, take a little nap and start getting ready for a night on the town. Everything has changed now, but for be better!

What are my plans for today? I'll probably take my baby to the mall. There's a nice play area there where he can slide and crawl and laugh and play. I'll sit there and watch him have a blast!

Already on my calendar are a few activities that I recommend for moms and babies:

- The Incredible Dog Show (Bicentennial Park - September 28/ 7:30 pm) - http://events.miamiherald.com/miami-fl/events/show/211412925-the-incredible-dog-show

- Tamiami Kids Festival (Fair Expo - October 8-9- FREE!)

- Family Halloween Party at Cocowalk (Coconut Grove- October 31/ 1-6 pm)

Hope you have a great weekend! Keep me posted.

That guilty feeling

I guess this happens to a lot of new moms; that feeling of wanting to spend more time with your little one, but having the obligation of a full time job. How do you divide yourself among all your responsibilities? How do you manage your time and let go of stress once you get home to be able to dedicate yourself entirely to your baby?

I don't have the answer to that question. Actually, I'm still in the process of exploring and getting used to this new life as a mom and full time working professional.

The guilty feeling is slipping away little by little, but sometimes I find myself beating myself up for having to spend time away from my kid.

How do you make the best of the time you have with your baby? I try to come home, take off my work clothes and slip into some comfortable exercise clothes so I can go on a walk with Alessandro. This is a great therapy for me because it helps me relieve stress and at the same time lets me enjoy some alone time with my baby. I also get in that much needed workout that I have no time for in the mornings.

Other activities I enjoy doing with Ale: reading to him, playing with his toys, taking him to the park, or just watching TV together.

Tell me what you are doing to enjoy your precious time with your kid!
